I was born in the sixties on the craggy shores of Twillingate, an island on the northeast coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
I have dedicated my life's work to photographing the North Atlantic Coast and sharing what I perceive on my roamings with you.
I am a landscapist first and foremost, starting with sketching as a child and gravitating towards photography over twenty years ago.
I consider myself an artist using the medium of photography. I do not display documentary photography but nature's ambience by chasing natural light.
I take images mostly at dawn and early morning for their moody and mystical light, but also for the solitude. My greatest peace comes from roaming the coastline at dawn.
My wife, Debbie, is the most beautiful and patient woman I know. She tolerates me crawling out of our home for dawn's light approximately 80 times a year even though it's not a job requirement.
I have two children, Ben and Molly...and more wonderful than I could have ever asked for.
Cheers,
Terry Adey
